21. Texas raised the minimum age for tobacco and e-cigarettes to 21 in 2019, and federal law also sets it at 21.

No. The minimum age for cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, shisha, vapes and every other tobacco or nicotine product is 21, under both Texas and federal law.

No. Federal law sets the minimum age at 21 with no exception for military service, so we check service members the same way we check everyone else.

A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID card, passport or military ID. Out-of-state IDs are fine. We cannot accept expired IDs, photos of IDs or school IDs.

Federal rules require retailers to check photo ID for anyone under 30. We check everyone, every time, so nobody slips through and nobody has to take it personally.

No. Buying tobacco, vapes or hemp products for anyone under 21 is against the law in Texas, and we will refuse any sale we believe is for someone underage.

Yes. Glass water pipes and hand pipes are legal to buy in Texas for legal use, such as tobacco. We sell them to adults 21 and over.

No. Adults 21 and over can legally buy disposable vapes in Texas. The state added rules in 2025 about which vapes can be sold, and we only stock products that meet them.

Yes. Texas requires a state permit for each store that sells cigarettes, cigars, tobacco products or e-cigarettes, and sets rules on age checks, signage and where products are displayed.

A disposable comes filled with e-liquid and charged, and you throw it away when the liquid runs out. A pod system is a device you keep, with pods you refill or replace.

It depends on the model and how you use it. The puff count on the box is a rough guide. Long draws, heavy use and high power modes all use e-liquid faster.

It is the manufacturer’s estimate, measured with short, even puffs in a lab. Most people get fewer in real use.

Most current disposables are. They have a USB-C port, so you can recharge the battery until the e-liquid runs out. Some smaller or older models are not rechargeable.

Usually the battery is low. Charge it with a USB-C cable until the light changes. If it still will not hit, or tastes burnt after charging, it is most likely out of e-liquid.

Either the e-liquid is running out or the coil is worn. On a disposable, that means it is done. On a pod system or mod, refill the liquid or replace the pod or coil.

Nicotine salt, or nic salt, is a form of nicotine that feels smoother at higher strengths. It is used in most disposables and pod systems. Freebase nicotine is the older form, usually sold in lower strengths for larger devices.

The strength is printed on the box as a percentage or in mg/mL, and most disposables come in 5%. If you are not sure, tell us what you use now and we will show you the options, including lower strengths.

For most people, every one to two weeks. Change it sooner if the flavor fades, it tastes burnt, or the vapor gets weak. Sweet e-liquids wear coils out faster.

Drip a few drops of e-liquid onto the cotton through the coil’s openings, fill the tank, and wait 5 to 10 minutes before your first pull. Start on low power. Skipping this can burn the cotton straight away.

Coils are specific to the brand and model. Bring your device or the old coil with you and we will match it.

Pod systems are small and simple, built for a tighter draw similar to a cigarette. Box mods are larger, let you adjust wattage, and are built for bigger clouds, usually with lower-strength freebase e-liquid.

Use the charger made for your device. Never carry loose batteries in a pocket with keys or coins. Keep spare batteries in a case, and replace any battery with a torn or damaged wrapper.

It is rare, and nearly always comes down to the battery: a damaged cell, the wrong charger, or loose batteries shorting against metal. Look after the battery and follow the maker’s charging instructions.

Do not put it in household trash or a recycling bin. Disposables contain a lithium battery that can start a fire. Take it to a battery or household hazardous waste drop-off.

New releases come in often and the flavor wall changes all the time. Call your nearest store to check a specific flavor before you drive over.

Shisha is flavored tobacco mixed with molasses or honey and glycerin. In a hookah it is heated by charcoal, not burned directly, and the smoke passes through water before you inhale it.

Tobacco shisha does. Herbal shisha is nicotine-free, but it still produces smoke and carbon monoxide from the charcoal.

No. The CDC says hookah smoke contains many of the same harmful chemicals as cigarette smoke, and the water does not filter them out. A long hookah session can also mean inhaling a large amount of smoke.

No. A hookah uses burning charcoal to heat shisha and produces smoke. A vape heats liquid with a battery-powered coil and produces vapor.

A hookah with a hose, a bowl, shisha, coals, tongs, and either foil or a heat management device. Natural coconut coals also need a coal burner to light them.

Quick-light coals catch with a lighter in seconds, but can leave a chemical taste. Natural coconut coals take about 10 minutes on a burner, burn longer and taste cleaner. Most regular hookah smokers use coconut.

Put them on an electric coal burner or a stovetop coil for about 8 to 10 minutes, turning them halfway, until they glow evenly with a light coat of ash. Use tongs, and keep the area well ventilated.

Usually about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how the bowl is packed, the type of bowl and how you manage the heat.

For a standard bowl, roughly 15 to 20 grams. Fluff the shisha in loosely and leave a small gap below the foil or heat management device.

Enough to cover the bottom of the downstem by about an inch. Too much water makes it hard to pull, and too little makes the smoke harsh.

Almost always too much heat. Move the coals to the edge of the bowl, take one off, or make sure the shisha is not touching the foil.

Check for a loose grommet or gap where air is leaking in, a downstem sitting too deep in the water, shisha packed too tightly, or a blocked hose.

An Egyptian bowl has several holes in the bottom, so juice can drip down the stem. A phunnel bowl has one raised center hole that keeps the juice in the bowl, which suits juicier shisha and longer sessions.

A metal cap that sits on top of the bowl in place of foil. It holds the coals and makes heat easier to control, so sessions last longer and burn less.

Empty and rinse the base after every session. Every few sessions, scrub the stem and base with a hookah brush and warm water. Only rinse hoses marked washable, such as silicone hoses.

Ice is fine and makes the smoke cooler. Stick to cold water and ice. Milk, juice and alcohol are hard to clean out, and alcohol is flammable near lit coals.

It dries out once it is exposed to air. Keep it sealed in its original container or an airtight jar, away from heat and sunlight.

Burning charcoal gives off carbon monoxide, which you cannot see or smell. Only smoke hookah somewhere with plenty of fresh air, and never in a closed room, tent or car.

A glass pipe that pulls smoke through water before you inhale it, which cools the smoke. They come in many shapes and sizes.

A beaker base is wide at the bottom, so it is more stable and holds more water. A straight tube has a straight chamber and flat base, which gives a quicker pull and is easier to clean.

A percolator is an extra piece of glass inside the chamber that breaks smoke into many small bubbles, cooling it further. Tree, honeycomb, matrix and showerhead are common types. More percolators mean more drag and more cleaning.

A piece designed so the water circulates continuously between two chambers as you pull. They are often used as dab rigs.

An attachment that fits between the bowl and your piece. It catches ash and debris before it reaches the main chamber, so the piece stays clean longer.

Match the angle of the joint on your piece. If the joint points up at an angle, you need 45 degrees. If it points straight out to the side, you need 90 degrees.

Most modern glass uses a 14mm joint, with 18mm next most common and 10mm on smaller pieces. If you are not sure, bring the piece or the bowl in and we will size it.

A male joint slides inside. A female joint is the opening it slides into. A 14mm male bowl fits a 14mm female joint.

The downstem is the tube that carries smoke from the bowl into the water. Measure from the top of the joint to the bottom tip, and match the joint size too. A diffused downstem has small slits that make finer bubbles.

A small handheld pipe with its own water chamber. It sits between a hand pipe and a full-size water pipe.

They are all hand pipes. A spoon is the classic straight shape with a bowl at one end. A sherlock has a long curved neck. A steamroller is a straight tube open at both ends.

A small, straight, single-bowl pipe, usually glass, that fits in a pocket.

A heat-resistant glass that handles sudden temperature changes much better than ordinary glass. Most quality pipes are made from it.

Yes. Thicker walls, such as 7mm or 9mm, make a piece heavier and far more resistant to breaking if it gets knocked.

Glass made by hand by an individual artist, often one of a kind, with worked color and detail. It costs more than production glass.

Add isopropyl alcohol, 91% or higher, with a spoonful of coarse salt, cover the openings and shake. Rinse with warm water. A ready-made cleaner such as Formula 420 works the same way. Do not pour boiling water into cold glass, because the shock can crack it.

Change the water every day you use it. Give the piece a full clean every few days of regular use, before buildup hardens.

Small glass notches inside the neck that hold ice cubes above the chamber, so smoke cools as it passes.

Yes. We carry bowls, downstems and ash catchers in 14mm and 18mm, in 45 and 90 degree. See the glass section.

A small water pipe built for concentrates. Instead of a bowl, it uses a nail or banger that is heated before use.

A dab rig is smaller, with a short path from the banger to your mouth so vapor does not cool and collect on the glass. A water pipe is larger and uses a bowl.

An electric rig, or e-rig, heats itself with a battery and set temperatures, so there is no torch. A glass rig needs a banger and a butane torch, and you control the heat yourself.

A quartz nail that fits into the joint of a glass rig and is heated with a torch. Quartz heats quickly and gives clean flavor.

Quartz gives the best flavor and heats fast. Titanium is nearly unbreakable and holds heat well. Ceramic holds heat longest but can crack if dropped.

Most people heat the bottom until it just starts to glow, then let it cool for about a minute. Thicker bangers take longer to heat and longer to cool.

Residue is burning onto it, usually from heating too hot or not cleaning between uses. Wipe it with a cotton swab while it is still warm, and soak it in isopropyl alcohol when it builds up.

It covers the top of the banger and traps heat, so you can use lower temperatures and waste less.

Glass rigs do, just enough to cover the downstem or percolator. Most electric rigs, including the Puffco Peak Pro, also use a little water in the glass.

A refillable butane jet torch with an adjustable flame and a safety lock. A regular lighter is not hot enough. See our torches.

Highly refined butane, often labeled 5x or higher. The fewer impurities, the less your torch clogs.

Follow the maker’s instructions. On most e-rigs, swab the chamber with a cotton swab while it is still warm, clean the glass separately with isopropyl alcohol, and never run water into the base.

Match the joint size, usually 10mm, 14mm or 18mm, the joint type, male or female, and the angle, 45 or 90 degrees. Bring the rig in if you are unsure.

A cigarillo is a small cigar wrapped in tobacco leaf, often flavored and sometimes tipped. A cigar is larger. A cigarette is wrapped in paper.

Yes. Cigarillos are made from tobacco and contain nicotine.

They dry out once opened. Foil pouches help keep them fresh. Keep open packs sealed and away from heat.

A brand of natural leaf cigars with a rustic, tapered look, sold in packs and in a range of flavors.

Tobacco wraps are made from tobacco leaf and contain nicotine. Hemp wraps are made from hemp, with no tobacco and no nicotine.

No. Hemp wraps contain no tobacco, so they have no nicotine.

Wood pulp papers are the most common and come bleached or unbleached. Rice papers are very thin and burn slowly. Hemp papers are natural and slightly thicker. RAW, for example, makes unbleached natural papers.

1¼ is the most common everyday size. King size slim is longer for a bigger roll. Check the booklet, the size is printed on the front.

Rolling papers already rolled into a cone with a filter tip in place. You fill it, pack it and twist the end closed.

A tip gives the roll a firm mouthpiece, keeps it from collapsing and stops loose bits reaching your mouth.

Spread your blend evenly between the rollers, close the machine and spin it a few times to pack. Tuck the paper in glue side facing you, lick the glue strip and keep rolling until it is sealed.

A 2-piece grinder has teeth and a lid. A 4-piece adds a screen and a compartment underneath that catches the finest dust separately.

Put it in the freezer for an hour, then brush it out. For a deep clean, soak a metal grinder in isopropyl alcohol, scrub, rinse and let it dry fully.

A torch lighter makes a focused jet flame that is much hotter and holds up in wind. A regular lighter makes a soft, open flame.

Turn the lighter upside down, press the butane can nozzle straight into the fill valve, and fill in short bursts of a few seconds. Wait a few minutes for the gas to settle before you light it.

The gas is too cold, or there is air trapped in the tank. Wait five minutes for it to warm up. If it still will not light, purge it and refill.

Point the fill valve away from you, somewhere ventilated and away from any flame, and press it with a small screwdriver until the hissing stops. Then refill.

Low fuel, cold gas or air in the tank. Purge it, refill with refined butane and let it warm up before lighting.

Refined butane, 5x or higher, with a nozzle adapter that fits your lighter’s valve. Cheaper butane leaves residue that clogs the jet.

Yes. A classic Zippo uses lighter fluid, not butane. Pull the insert out, lift the felt pad and soak the cotton. Flints and wicks are replaceable too.

Pull out the insert, unscrew the spring at the bottom, drop in a new flint and screw the spring back in.

Yes. Clipper lighters are refillable with butane and have a replaceable flint.

No. BIC lighters are disposable and are not built to be refilled.

Hemp twine coated in beeswax. You light the wick with a lighter, then use the wick’s small flame, so butane never gets near what you are lighting.

No. We do not carry marijuana, delta-8, delta-10, THCA flower or THC vapes.

Both come from the hemp plant. CBD does not make you feel high. THC is the compound that can be intoxicating.

Some can. Hemp-derived gummies and drinks that contain THC can have intoxicating effects, which is why we only sell them to adults 21 and over. Check the label for the amount per serving and ask us if you are unsure.

Hemp-derived products that meet Texas rules can currently be sold to adults 21 and over. That is changing: a federal law passed in 2025 narrows what counts as legal hemp from November 12, 2026, and will take many THC products off shelves nationwide. We only stock what is legal at the time.

It can. Products with THC can cause a positive result, and even CBD products may contain trace amounts. If you are drug tested, talk to your employer or doctor before using any hemp product.

We cannot tell you that. Hemp and CBD products are not approved to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Talk to your doctor, especially if you take other medication.

No. Hemp-infused drinks are non-alcoholic, but drinks that contain THC can still be intoxicating.

Do not drive if you feel any effect. In Texas you can be charged with driving while intoxicated for impairment from any substance, not only alcohol.

In a cool, dry place and well out of reach of children and pets. Gummies look like candy, so keep them in their original packaging.

Yes. Every product lists its ingredients and serving size on the label. Ask at the counter and we will walk you through it.

Yes. Check the date printed on the package, and store them sealed so they do not dry out or melt.

Good ones do. They use an activated carbon lining and a sealing zipper to trap odors. The lining wears out over time, and the bag only works when it is fully closed.

Pour it into the piece, cover the openings, shake for a minute or two, then rinse well with warm water. Use the formula made for your material. The original is for glass, and there is a separate formula for plastics.

Silicone is fine with isopropyl alcohol. Keep alcohol away from acrylic, because it can craze and crack it. Use warm soapy water or a cleaner made for plastics instead.

Put it on a flat, steady surface away from drafts, switch to calibration mode as the manual describes, and place the calibration weight when it asks. Many scales come with a weight in the box.

A 0.01 gram scale measures very small amounts precisely. A 0.1 gram scale is fine for everyday weighing and usually handles heavier loads.

Brass and stainless steel screens are cheap and cut to fit most bowls. Glass daisy screens last longer and clean easily. Match the screen to your bowl size.
