A glass case built on requests

What sits in the case is mostly there because customers asked for it. Thick borosilicate beakers with ice pinches, straight tubes, tree and honeycomb percs, recyclers, bubblers, spoons and one-hitters, plus the bowls, downstems and ash catchers that keep a piece going.

Palm Valley has the deeper case

Both stores carry glass, but store #1 on East Palm Valley holds the larger selection. Not sure about joint size or downstem length? The answers are below, or call and ask.

All 19 questions on glass and water pipes
What is the difference between a beaker base and a straight tube?

A beaker base is wide at the bottom, so it is more stable and holds more water. A straight tube has a straight chamber and flat base, which gives a quicker pull and is easier to clean.

What does a percolator do?

A percolator is an extra piece of glass inside the chamber that breaks smoke into many small bubbles, cooling it further. Tree, honeycomb, matrix and showerhead are common types. More percolators mean more drag and more cleaning.

What is a bubbler?

A small handheld pipe with its own water chamber. It sits between a hand pipe and a full-size water pipe.

What size joint does my piece have?

Most modern glass uses a 14mm joint, with 18mm next most common and 10mm on smaller pieces. If you are not sure, bring the piece or the bowl in and we will size it.

Does thicker glass matter?

Yes. Thicker walls, such as 7mm or 9mm, make a piece heavier and far more resistant to breaking if it gets knocked.

How do I clean a glass pipe?

Add isopropyl alcohol, 91% or higher, with a spoonful of coarse salt, cover the openings and shake. Rinse with warm water. A ready-made cleaner such as Formula 420 works the same way. Do not pour boiling water into cold glass, because the shock can crack it.
